Prom Gowns by Kiss XX of Lichfield, Staffordshire

Proms have become bigger in the UK. At Kiss XX Bridal Wear, we have been supplying prom gowns for five years, each year getting busier than the one before. Two of our main suppliers are American companies and provide us with excellent genuine prom gowns. Most schools are now holding proms whether they are in the school hall, or at a swanky venue.

When the girls enter year 11 in September, their first thought turns to proms, and the search for that perfect dress begins.

Prom seasoned and styles do not generally continue into next season.

The ideal time to start your search for the perfect gown is January as we take delivery of our new prom gowns for the new season.

Trying on prom gowns is fun and exciting and an opportunity to try on something a little bit different.

At Kiss XX we keep a record of every prom in our area and we keep a record of the style and colour that is order. This stops more than one dress in the same colour and style going to the same school.

We have been into local schools in the last few years providing cat walk shows for year 11 and 13 girls, giving them a glimpse of the new exciting gowns out there. Some of the schools have been able to use this event as a money raiser for their prom night, one school raising £500. Other suppliers such as cars and men’s suits, hair and make-up artists attended. Over the last few years prom gowns have become more elaborate than ever, many girls opting for the full American tulle, and the tight fitting bodice with rushed skirt, elegant 3/4 length dress but the slinky figure hugging dress is still a favourite.

The dresses are available in sizes ranging from 0 - 30 dependant on the manufacture. The prom gowns are available in a large variety of colours, often much bolder and brighter colours; with many having bead work on them. The fabric mainly used in prom gowns is tulle, taffeta, satin, silk charmeuse and chiffon.

Left it late?

We hold a variety of prom gowns in stock in a wide range of colours but if you require a different colour or size we are fortunate to be able to provide a 48 hour order service on some of our prom range. This is fantastic as we can get a more personal item for each customer with the colour they require.

Planning Ahead

We also stock a couture range of gowns, and these dresses take between 8 and 12 weeks for delivery. These dresses are manufactured in the USA and they are then shipped over from New York. These gowns are individually made for each customer.

Will I Require Alterations?

Most girls haven’t worn evening dresses before and need to feel confident in their new gown. This can be achieved by final fits. This is done to make the dress the correct and safe length to walk in with ease and to fit flat across the bust to stop any unnecessary gaping.
